Welcome to Flashcard Tutor. This app was designed to provide the same type of approach used by a person trying to teach another person via flashcards. A few of the basic concepts are explained below.
Decks
Cards
Like physical flashcards, this app is organized around "decks" and "cards". Decks are typically set up by subject, e.g., "Spanish", "French Verbs", "Capital Cities", etc. Within each deck you can add as many cards as needed.
Each card must have, at a minimum, text to display on side 1 (the front of the card) and text to display on side 2 (the back of the card).
In addition to the front and back text, you can also enter optional "hints" for side 1, side 2, or both. Hints can be used to supply additional reminders on hints for that question, or pronunciation help. Hints appear in grey, as shown here:
Scoring
Each card is automatically scored between 0 and 1. A lower score indicates a card that has tested poorly. Factors that are used in scoring include:
- Number of times a question is answered correctly vs. number of times a question is answered incorrectly
- How long it takes to answer a question
- How long it's been since a card was last reviewed
